My View On Things

A Retired Navy Man

I am a retired HMC/USN. My length of service was
24 years. I was a Hospital Corpsman (medic) and
served most of my service with the United States
Marine Corps. I traveled many places in the USA &
in foreign countries, including southeast asia. My
favorite place is the Philippines - where I found
a most pleasant and hospitable people. Still to
this day i cannot say enough praise about the
Filipino people. I have seen them in their native
environment and in the USA. The conduct of those
people is a model which I wish to emulate and tell
the world of these remarkable, successful, energetic and talented people. More about this later.

Computing
I am new in computing - only had one in the last
2 years. I use a Dual 200 Pentium-Pro with 256 mb
ram, 21 inch monitor, #9 imagine 128 8 megs vram,
SB 32 AWE 32 P&P (plug and pray), 28.8 modem, 3
EIDE hard drives - running Windows NT workstation
and server.

Kids Pageants
I became interested in beauty pageants for kids
back in 1967. Back then this was a new thing and
not something most people knew about. I photograhed my first one in 1967. A local pageant
in which one of the contestants was a future Miss
America (from Mississippi).

Since then I have photographed many pageants for
kids - recently I did merge with a large Photo &
video company and have photographed and videoed
many pageants over half of the US. For 20 years I
did photogenic pictures for pageants. I decided to
retire from this due to personal reasons.

I see nothing wrong with pageants - as reported in
the unfortunate death of one pageant child. While
her death is tragic - it has NOTHING to do with
pageants - only that she was involved with them
and the media has exploited this aspect in such a
way that any comments I might make would be most
offensive to people - so I will not comment further on that particular subject.

Pageants for kids have there place - beleive it or
not. You either beleive in them or u don't - it is
that simple. I make no comment either way. For me
it is a way of life.
